Job summary

A leading low-cost airline is looking for a Maintenance Control Center Manager in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring aircraft airworthiness, safety, and operational reliability. This role includes overseeing defect management, driving technical improvements, and enhancing aircraft availability. A strong background in aircraft maintenance, personnel management, and compliance with regulatory standards is essential. Candidates should have at least 7 years of relevant experience, including supervisory roles, and be proficient in English and Arabic.

Qualifications

Job description

Job Purpose

Responsible for leading Maintenance Control Center (MCC) operations to ensure aircraft airworthiness, safety, and operational reliability. Oversees the management of technical defects, drives optimal Technical Dispatch Reliability (TDR), and ensures effective Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) recovery. Ensures compliance with approved manuals and regulatory requirements, and works closely with Engineering, Operations, and service providers to support safe, efficient, and reliable fleet operations.

Key Result Responsibilities

• Manage all in-service, deferred, and en‑route aircraft defects to ensure continued safe and airworthy operations, including troubleshooting, parts coordination, and timely rectification.
• Maintain and continuously improve Technical Dispatch Reliability (TDR) through effective monitoring, analysis, and resolution of technical defects.
• Conduct root cause analysis of recurring defects and technical disruptions, providing structured feedback and recommendations to Engineering and Maintenance leadership.
• Ensure optimal aircraft availability, including effective Aircraft‑on‑Ground (AOG) recovery planning and execution.
• Establish and oversee aircraft systems health monitoring and preventive maintenance processes to identify, control, and eliminate repetitive defects.
• Support and enhance spare parts strategies, including On‑Site Stock (OSS) and pooled parts programs, based on defect trends, operational history, and recovery requirements.
• Define and drive departmental objectives for the Maintenance Control Center (MCC), ensuring alignment with operational standards, business KPIs, and continuous improvement goals.
• Ensure adequate MCC manpower through effective shift planning and workforce management.
• Lead MCC supervisory functions, including staff selection, training, performance management, and discipline.
• Maintain strong working relationships with approved service providers to ensure timely technical support during critical operational events.
• Ensure MCC operations comply with the General Maintenance Manual (GMM), Approved Maintenance Program (AMP), and all applicable regulatory requirements.
• Promote and uphold a strong safety culture, advocating aircraft operational safety as the highest priority while encouraging balanced commercial decision‑making.
• Prepare and present daily operational reports, including digital statistics and trend analysis of current and historical technical events.
• Develop and issue operational awareness materials, including technical log notices, Read & Initial communications, and manual amendments, as required.
• Initiate and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance MCC processes, defect management systems, and recovery from technical disruptions.
• Provide formal recommendations to the Director of Maintenance and Engineering for corrective actions, process enhancements, and improvements to the AMP.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

• Tertiary qualification in an aviation‑related field (e.g., Engineering Degree) or holding a GACA A&P License.
• Strong professional knowledge of aircraft maintenance and defect rectification, airline dispatch requirements and technical operations.
• A sound knowledge of GACA/FAA/ICAO maintenance and airworthiness regulations including safety and human factors.
• Familiarity with Typical Fleet Technical Management Systems such as TRAX, AMOS etc.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Experience in aircraft system troubleshooting, aircraft defect rectification in line maintenance and minimum equipment list handling.
• Strong knowledge and experience of performing MCC and AOG recovery operations.
• Fluent in English & Arabic Language.

Work Experience

• Over 7 years of experience as a Line Maintenance Engineer and at least 2 years in a supervisory or Maintenance Control role.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in releasing aircraft to service, with type‑specific license or company approval on Air Arabia‑operated aircraft, and proven exposure to low‑cost or small commercial airline operations.
