Job Summary

On behalf of our client, we are looking for Math Teacher to join their school. Job Summary: We are searching for a dedicated and experienced math teacher to join our client . As a math teacher, you will be required to deliver lessons that develop students' theoretical and applied mathematical skills. You will also be responsible for assigning homework, grading assignments and quizzes, and documenting students' progress. To be successful as a math teacher, you should possess a thorough understanding of effective teaching practices. Our ideal candidate will be able to create a stimulating learning environment that is sensitive to students' psychosocial needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lesson Planning, Teaching and Learning
  • Creating a climate for learning that is conducive for outstanding practice
  • Identifying clear teaching and learning objectives

• Maintaining discipline in accordance with the school’s ‘Behavior for Learning Policy’ and encouraging good practice with regard to punctuality, behavior, standards of work and homework.
• Using a variety of teaching strategies to match approach to content, structure information, present a set of key ideas and use appropriate vocabulary.
• Using effective questioning, listening carefully to students, giving attention to errors and misconceptions.
• Selecting appropriate learning resources and developing study skills through library, I.C.T. and other learning.
• Reflecting on and evaluating own teaching to improve effectiveness.

  • Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use them to improve specific aspects of teaching.
  • Mark students work at least once every two weeks and set targets for progress.
  • Using performance data to inform planning and therefore ensuring the Learning and Teaching continue to ‘add value.’
  • Assess and record students' progress systematically and keep records to check work is understood and completed, monitor strengths and areas for development, inform planning and recognize the level at which the student is achieving.
  • Undertake assessment of students as requested by examination bodies, departmental and school procedures.

  • Take part in subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work.
  • Keep subject knowledge up-to-date through CPD and professional reading.

  • Undertake staff duties in line with the duty rota.
  • Undertake exam invigilation duties as required.
  • Cover for absent colleagues as required.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by the Principal or Head of Department as appropriate.
