Job summary

A regional airline in Dhahran Compound is seeking a Material and Logistics Engineer responsible for overseeing aircraft material supply and logistics operations. Job description
Overview

Job Purpose
Responsible for overseeing aircraft material supply and logistics operations to support safe, compliant, and reliable maintenance activities. Manages and oversight outsourced technical procurement and logistics services, ensures MRO, AMOs and supplier performance in line with contractual and GACA requirements, and enables timely support for routine, MEL, and AOG material needs. It ensures regulatory compliance, warranty recovery, cost-effective material planning, and continuous improvement of logistics processes while supporting aircraft availability and operational continuity.

Key Result Responsibilities
  • Manage and control end-to-end material flow for outsourced procurement and logistics services, ensuring contracted Material & Logistics Providers and MROs perform in full compliance with the Technical Services Agreement, Material Annex, GMM, and applicable GACA regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the principal MRO and external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of aircraft materials and components in line with agreed service levels.
  • Drive corrective actions and negotiate improvements to supply chain efficiency and inventory support.
  • Ensure effective coordination of AOG and MEL material support through close collaboration with MCC, AMO Logistics, and MRO AOG Desks, minimizing operational disruption through timely requisitioning, shipment, and release of required parts.
  • Coordinate with logistics stakeholders, including freight forwarders, customs clearance, airside and landside transport providers, to ensure seamless material movement and resolution of delivery or performance-related issues at main base and remote stations.
  • Support long-range planning and scheduled material requirements in coordination with Planning, MCC, and Technical Services, including advance material provisioning for major checks and planned component changes to enable cost-effective and operationally efficient maintenance execution.
  • Support investigations into chronic or repetitive component failures in coordination with Technical Services Manager and MCC, including spot checks of aircraft and cabin conditions (e.g., NEF items) and contribution to MEL/NEF development and optimization.
  • Review material demand requests to identify warranty-eligible components, raise and manage warranty claims with OEMs, ensure accurate documentation, and follow up to closure to maximize cost recovery.
  • Ensure all material documentation is received, verified for compliance, and accurately uploaded into component change and maintenance systems.
  • Maintain supplier and repair station compliance with GACA requirements and Approved Vendor List (AVL) standards.
  • Initiate and support continuous improvement of logistics policies, processes, and systems, leveraging information technology to reduce material costs, improve delivery performance, manage recurring defects, and enhance recovery from supply disruptions.
  • Act as an advocate for aircraft operational safety and quality while balancing commercial considerations. Provide data-driven recommendations to the Director of Maintenance and Engineering to address deficiencies and improve material supply and logistics standards across the operation.

Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages)
  • Tertiary qualification in a business or aviation-related field (e.g., Engineering Degree)
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • A sound knowledge of GACA/FAA/EASA components maintenance and airworthiness regulations including quality and human factors.
  • Familiarity with Typical Fleet Technical Management Systems such as AMP, TRAX, AMOS etc.
  • Strong professional knowledge of aircraft material provisioning and supply, vendors management and AOG recovery operations.
  • Strong professional knowledge of commercial aircraft storing programs, material planning & materials management including inventory level planning.
  • Fluent in English & Arabic Language.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of performing procurement and repair management operations.
Work Experience
  • Over 5 years of experience as a Material and Logistics Engineer, including at least 2 years in technical purchasing and AOG handling.
  • 2 years in warranty administration, and 2 years in senior specialist roles overseeing procurement and store supervision.
  • Experience in Supply Chain Systems, shipping & receiving and minimum equipment list handling.
