Petro Rabigh seeks a Lead Technician for the MFT – Power Systems department to maintain, troubleshoot, test and commission electrical facilities ensuring reliable power systems.

Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment, leading preventative maintenance, supervising contractors, conducting root cause analyses, and delivering training while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years in Refining and Petrochemical industry.
  • Extensive experience in electrical equipment diagnostics and repair.
  • Experience with international maintenance standards and best practices.
  • Extensive testing of electrical equipment (breakers, transformers, cables, motors).
  • Experience with UPS, Protective Relaying Systems, metering, IEDs, power monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment and plan repairs and spares.
  • Lead preventive and predictive maintenance including thermography and oil analysis.
  • Supervise contractor works under service contracts.
  • Lead root cause failure analysis and corrective actions.
  • Improve electrical equipment reliability.
  • Develop technical reports and training.
  • Follow safety standards and guidelines.

Job description

The Lead Technician will be part of the MFT – Power Systems department at Petro Rabigh. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning electrical facilities to ensure the power system remains running and reliable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment diagnosis, locate faulty equipment, determine nature of repairs and spare parts required to plan the work correctly.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical equipment (i.e. thermography, transformer oil analysis, partial discharges, etc.).
  • Assist in monitoring, facilitating, and control of Contractor’s works under OPEX/Service Contracts.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Evaluate and identify potential improvement opportunities to enhance electrical equipment and plant reliability.
  • Recommend new modifications to improve existing facilities and suggest innovative ideas for better results.
  • Develop technical reports, lessons learned sessions, and technical analysis for department management.
  • Deliver training on various technical topics.
  • Generate guidelines on how to use electrical testing equipment and deliver training classes.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as designated by the Foreman.
  • Follow PRC safety standards and guidelines.
Experience Required:
  • Minimum 8 years in Refining and Petrochemical industry.
  • High experience in diagnostics & repair methods for electrical equipment in refining and petrochemical industries.
  • High experience in international maintenance standards and best practices.
  • Wide experience in electrical equipment testing (breakers, transformers, cables, motors).
  • Experience in the UPS (uninterruptible Power Supply) equipment.
  • Experience in Protective Relaying Systems, Electric Metering/Measuring Devices, Intelligent Electrical Devices (IEDs), Power Monitoring and Control systems.
Education Qualifications:

Diploma in Electrical Discipline

  • Advanced computer literacy (Office tools, SAP applications)
  • Proficient in VFD software tools programming, configuration, and diagnostics functions for the various types such as TMEIC, Toshiba, ABB, Siemens, etc.
  • Ability of downloading protection settings, Evaluation of the settings and events, Testing of all protection functions and safe uploading of protection settings.
