Job summary

KFSH&RC seeks a Lead Technical Assistant to coordinate laboratory activities, supervise technical staff, and ensure efficient specimen procurement and reporting across departments.

The role covers Parasitology, Cytogenetics, Microscopy and Blood Transfusion Service, with training duties and daily scheduling responsibilities. Registration with SCHS is required for non-Saudis; bilingual English/Arabic communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree/Diploma in Medical or Laboratory Technology is required.
• Four (4) years as Lead Technical Assistant at KFSH&RC, or Grade 07 related experience required.
• 50 hours of cumulative CME (Continued Medical Education) required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and resolves problems related to specimen procurement and activities of the technical assistants in the laboratory.
• Receives daily schedules and assigns assistants to areas for specimen procurement.
• Assists in training new technical assistants.
• Oversees distribution of laboratory reports.
• Maintains inventories and requisitioning of blood-collecting supplies.
• Performs duties of blood collection as needed.
• Complies with policies and quality improvement programs per accreditation standards.

Job description

Leads and coordinates activities of the technical assistants and/or assists in specialty areas of the laboratory.

Key responsibilities

• Monitors and resolves problems related to specimen procurement and activities of the technical assistants and/or assists in specialty of the laboratory, including but not limited to Parasitology, Cytogenetics, Microscopy and Blood Transfusion Service.
• Receives daily schedules and assigns technical assistants to specific areas of the Hospital and clinics for specimen procurement.
• Assists in training new technical assistants.
• Oversees distribution of laboratory reports.
• Inventories and requisitions of blood-collecting supplies.
• Performs all duties of blood collecting, etc. as needed.
• Comply with the section policies, procedures, and protocols. Follows the section quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, CAP, SFDA and other accreditation international agencies standards

Other responsibilities

• Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
• Bilingual skills (English/Arabic) is required for verbal and written communication purposes.
• Completion of approved accreditation according to country of origin is required for non-Saudi.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree/Diploma in Medical or Laboratory Technology, or other related discipline is required.

Experience

• Four (4) years as Lead Technical Assistant at KFSH&RC, or (Grade 07) related experience is required.
• Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
• Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education (CME).
