Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Riyadh is seeking a highly experienced Structural/Bridges SME with 15+ years of bridge engineering experience, focusing on steel bridge design, site supervision, and delivery for major transportation projects in Saudi Arabia and GCC.

You will lead design development, review technical documents, and coordinate with clients, contractors, and authorities to ensure successful project delivery with high standards of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of bridge engineering experience, with steel bridge design and site supervision.
• Experience delivering large-scale bridge projects in Saudi Arabia and GCC.
• Knowledge of international bridge design standards and Saudi regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge design & analysis for steel bridge structures in major projects.
• Supervise construction activities, approve shop drawings, submittals, and temporary works.
• Coordinate with contractors, utilities, and authorities across project lifecycle.
• Support erection, rehabilitation, widening and replacement works and ensure safety & quality.

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Structural / Bridges SME with 15+ years of bridge engineering experience, specializing in the design, site supervision, and delivery of steel bridge structures for major transportation and urban infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will support the clients in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, contributing to bridge design development, technical leadership, construction supervision, stakeholder coordination, and project delivery.

Candidates with direct experience on large-scale infrastructure projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, or the wider GCC region will be highly preferred.

Your role

Bridge Design & Engineering

• Extensive experience in the design, analysis, and delivery of steel bridge structures for major urban transportation and highway projects.
• Proven involvement in large-scale bridge and infrastructure developments in Riyadh, KSA, or similar GCC environments.
• Experience in:
• Steel Plate Girder Bridges
• Steel Box Girder Bridges
• Composite Steel-Concrete Bridges
• Pedestrian Steel Bridges
• Flyovers and Grade-Separated Interchanges
• Elevated Road Structures

Construction Supervision & Site Experience

• Experience supervising bridge construction activities on major infrastructure projects.
• Review and approval of shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and temporary works designs.
• Site inspections to ensure compliance with approved designs, project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Experience supporting bridge erection, launching, rehabilitation, widening, strengthening, and replacement works.
• Coordination with contractors, supervision consultants, and construction teams during project execution.
• Resolution of site-related engineering and construction challenges.
• Monitoring construction progress and supporting technical delivery throughout all project stages.

Urban Infrastructure Experience

• Familiarity with bridge design requirements for congested urban corridors, grade separations, and major road network improvements.
• Experience in bridge rehabilitation, strengthening, widening, and replacement projects.
• Proven capability in coordinating bridge design with highways, utilities, traffic, drainage, geotechnical, and construction teams.
• Strong stakeholder management experience across clients, contractors, authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in bridge engineering, with significant exposure to steel bridge design and construction supervision.
• Proven experience delivering bridge projects within Saudi Arabia and/or the GCC region.
• Strong knowledge of bridge analysis and design software such as MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, CSI Bridge, RM Bridge, or SOFiSTiK.
• Experience with international bridge design standards and Saudi regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
• Professional Engineering Chartership or equivalent accreditation is desirable.
