Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Principal Quantity Surveyor to lead and oversee all quantity surveying activities across Architecture, Civil, Structural and MEP construction projects, including buildings and infrastructure, ensuring accurate cost estimation, contract compliance, and financial control on complex projects in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum 10 years of post-graduate experience in Quantity Surveying, focusing on buildings and infrastructure.
• Proven track record managing medium to large infrastructure or building projects.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Fluent in English with clear technical documentation.
• Experience with FIDIC or other standard contract forms.

Responsibilities

• Manage quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and payment certifications to support project delivery within budget and schedule.
• Conduct detailed material quantity take-offs from design and shop drawings for all disciplines.
• Maintain and update schedule of quantities and unit prices to ensure budget control.
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and quantity assessments for proposed variations and additional works.
• Lead negotiations with contractors regarding change orders.
• Review and validate contractor invoices and final accounts for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform site inspections to verify completed work against contract specs and drawings.
• Provide cost engineering and value engineering guidance and contribute to continuous improvement of cost management practices.
• Coordinate with project controls and planning teams to ensure alignment between cost and schedule performance.
