Job summary

Ahmed Alyami Group in Abqaiq is seeking a Lead Estimator Mechanical for full-time on-site work. You will lead the estimating process for complex construction and industrial projects, reviewing drawings and specs, quantifying materials and labor, and producing detailed cost estimates and bid proposals.

You will collaborate with engineering, procurement and site teams to validate scope and optimize bids. The role requires strong analytical and leadership skills, experience with P&IDs, and

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical estimating expertise with take-offs and bid prep.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and specs.
• Experience with estimating software and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of industry codes and best practices in mechanical works.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills to identify cost drivers.
• Excellent communication and collaboration, with leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical estimating process for construction and industrial projects.
• Review drawings and specifications to quantify materials and labor.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, procurement and construction teams.
• Validate scope and ensure alignment between estimates and execution plans.
• Maintain and update unit cost databases; identify risks and VE opportunities.
• Support tender reviews and negotiations; mentor junior estimators.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools, templates and workflows.
