Job summary

Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented Land Surveyor to join our team. In this role you will work in the field performing various surveying activities on infrastructure and landscaping projects.

You will plan, organize, and direct surveying work to determine precise locations, elevations, and boundaries; locate rights-of-way and property lines; draft field maps; and coordinate with engineering teams and clients on complex projects.

Qualifications

• BSc in Surveying or diploma in surveying.
• 5-7 years of land surveying experience on landscape and parks projects.
• Knowledge of surveying procedures and instruments.
• Familiar with drafting, geometry, calculus and engineering formulas; CAD drawings and maps.
• Experience in roads, infrastructure, and landscaping projects.
• Good commanded engineering and construction processes and industry practices.
• Excellent written and oral communication; capable of leading projects; proficient with CAD and PC software.
• Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches and coordinates with engineers, clients and architects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct field surveying work for construction and land development.
• Research historical survey data and establish survey control procedures.
• Locate rights-of-way, topographic features, property lines, corners, and boundaries.
• Prepare and manage field survey maps and documentation.
• Coordinate complex projects using electronic measuring instruments.
• Compute and plat survey data; develop procedures for statewide survey contracts.
• Approve plats and sites for correct technical data and form.
