An international engineering services company is seeking a Lead Engineer Process Polymers for a temporary role in Sohar, Oman. The successful candidate will provide robust technical support and advice in optimizing Polymer processes and managing major projects. Requirements include a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical Engineering), 15+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in English. This role emphasizes safety, compliance, and efficiency in operations.

Position Title: Lead Engineer Process Polymers
Location: Sohar, Oman
Duration: One year
Start date: ASAP
Execute robust professional technical support and advice in the identification, implementation and continuous improvement of process optimization-based activities for Polymers processes; through (1) analyses and prepares optimization proposals executing the corresponding engineering actions, task and activities related to opportunities of optimization for Polymers (2) execute actions to ensure that Management process Services meets Management strategy, tactics and operational performance goals, (3) provides focused technical/engineering support on specific operations and the corresponding engineering, maintenance and operational teams in Polymers plants, and (4) guide young engineers in related matters; in order to ensure projects and service actions, tasks and targets are achieved efficiently and to optimum standards. (5) Optimize the Operating parameters to archive maximum yields. (6) Maximize the Unit throughput and debottlenecking the process to have max. throughput. Optimize the Utilities, catalyst and additive consumption. Energy optimization and focus in decarbonization.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
Familiar with techniques for ensuring data integrity with various integration of information/reports.
Minimum Qualifications for this position is Bachelor Degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering. Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required); Arabic - Native (desirable).
