Job summary

Tenaris in Jubail seeks a Laboratory Manager to lead metallurgical and laboratory activities supporting our manufacturing operations. You will drive thermo-mechanical process optimization, ensure product quality, and mentor a team of analysts, collaborating with Quality, Engineering, and Production to enable technical excellence.

You will oversee lab safety, equipment, and resources while advancing continuous improvement and reliability across the metallurgical function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in metallurgy or related field required.
• Master's degree is a plus.
• Strong metallurgy and steel manufacturing experience.
• Proven leadership of technical teams and laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead metallurgical analysis and provide technical support for manufacturing operations.
• Manage Technical Queries, product reallocations and feasibility studies from a metallurgical perspective.
• Drive the definition, setup and continuous improvement of thermo-mechanical processes.
• Lead metallurgical qualification of new or modified processes, products, and suppliers.
• Define and oversee Failure Analysis protocols for internal quality issues and customer claims.
• Lead, coach and develop laboratory personnel with a culture of technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead metallurgical analysis and provide technical support for manufacturing operations product engineering and feasibility assessments
• Manage Technical Queries TQs product reallocations downgrades and feasibility studies defining process capabilities and limitations from a metallurgical perspective
• Drive the definition setup and continuous improvement of thermo-mechanical processes and transformations
• Lead the metallurgical qualification of new or modified processes products steel grades and raw material suppliers
• Define and oversee Failure Analysis protocols for both internal quality issues and customer claims
• Monitor the performance of thermo-mechanical processes through capability studies borderline analyses reprocessing evaluations and corrective actions
• Provide specialized metallurgical expertise and support to manufacturing quality and engineering teams
• Lead coach and develop laboratory personnel fostering a culture of technical excellence continuous improvement and teamwork
• Safeguard laboratory equipment facilities and resources while promoting operational efficiency and reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in metallurgical engineering Materials Science Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Master s degree is a plus
• Strong experience in metallurgy steel manufacturing heat treatment processes and quality management within an industrial environment
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and laboratory operations
• Solid knowledge of thermo-mechanical processing failure analysis metallurgical testing and process qualification
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills in English
