Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join BAE Systems as a Tornado Instructor WSO based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor providing maintenance and training support to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) and Royal Saudi Naval Force.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Squadron Commander for the training of RSAF IDS pilots, WSOs, and instructors.
• Plan and conduct mission planning training covering intelligence break-out, chart making, and mission execution.
• Deliver active flying training, including navigation skills, lookout responsibilities, offensive and defensive systems management, crew coordination, and weapons management.
• Maintain situational awareness and enhance equipment usage.
• Serve as a Standardization & Evaluation flight examiner and conduct weapons and tactics employment training.
• Assist aircrew with time management and performance of critical airborne tasks.
• Plan flights, including normal and advanced equipment such as FDL, Link-16, and TAMPA, and evaluate enemy weapons system capability and counter‑measures.
• Operate and interpret radar, and maintain navigation skills.
• Apply instructional methodology techniques and manage crew training.

Qualifications

• Must have served as an IWSO for at least 250 hours.

• Graduate of the RAF Academic Instructor Course or equivalent.
• Good man‑management and people‑development competencies.

• Adept at multi‑tasking engineering and management duties.
• Ability to serve as a Platform Instructor and Standardization/Examiner.
• Qualification shortfall subject to customer waiver.
