Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Hydraulics Inspector to join the construction supervision team in Saudi Arabia. You will oversee installation and construction of stormwater networks, culverts, drainage systems, flood protection works and related hydraulic infrastructure for transportation projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 8 years of site supervision experience on infrastructure projects within Saudi Arabia, with a strong focus on inspecting drainage and hydraulic works for

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of construction supervision on infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 5 years inspecting drainage, stormwater, and hydraulic infrastructure works.
• Mandatory experience within Saudi Arabia (KSA).
• Proven experience with engineering consultancy firms on construction supervision projects.
• Strong experience in transportation, road, highway, and utility infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of drainage networks, stormwater systems, culverts, hydraulic structures, and flood control infrastructure.
• Familiarity with QA/QC, inspection procedures, and interpretation of drawings/specifications.
• Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Inspect drainage, stormwater, hydraulic, and utility works to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Monitor construction activities for culverts, pipelines, catch basins, manholes, channels, and flood mitigation structures.
• Verify line, level, alignment, dimensions, and quality of works on site.
• Review contractor activities and monitor compliance with method statements and quality procedures.
• Witness and document inspections, testing, and commissioning of drainage and hydraulic systems.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, discipline engineers, and other inspectors to resolve site issues.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor compliance with project HSE and environmental requirements.
• Support progress monitoring and provide inspection reports identifying deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Verify materials used meet project specifications and submittals.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings and construction details for drainage and hydraulic infrastructure.
• Support delivery of transportation corridors, roads, drainage systems, and related civil works.

Job description

As a Hydraulics Inspector, you will be part of the construction supervision team overseeing the installation and construction of stormwater networks, culverts, drainage systems, flood protection works, and other hydraulic infrastructure associated with transportation and road projects.

The ideal candidate will have extensive site supervision experience on infrastructure projects within Saudi Arabia and a strong background in inspecting drainage and hydraulic works on behalf of engineering consultancy organizations. Candidates whose experience is predominantly related to building services, contractor-only roles, or office-based design positions will not be considered.

• Inspect drainage, stormwater, hydraulic, and utility works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Monitor construction activities related to culverts, box culverts, pipelines, catch basins, manholes, channels, retention ponds, and flood mitigation structures.
• Verify line, level, alignment, dimensions, and quality of works executed on site.
• Review contractor work activities and monitor compliance with approved method statements and quality procedures.
• Witness and document inspections, testing, and commissioning activities related to drainage and hydraulic systems.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, discipline engineers, and other inspectors to resolve site issues.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of construction supervision experience on infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience inspecting drainage, stormwater, and hydraulic infrastructure works.
• Mandatory experience within Saudi Arabia (KSA).
• Proven experience working with engineering consultancy firms on construction supervision projects.
• Strong experience in transportation, road, highway, and utility infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of drainage networks, stormwater systems, culverts, hydraulic structures, and flood control infrastructure.
• Familiarity with quality assurance, quality control, and inspection procedures.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Fluency in English is essential; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
