Job summary

KAUST is seeking an AI/ML Support Analyst to join the Supercomputing Lab. You will support AI research services across Climate & Weather, Bioinformatics, CFD, NLP, and multimodal AI, developing and optimizing Generative AI models and maintaining computational benchmarks.

You will bridge innovative infrastructure with research needs, contributing to governance, enablement, and community development initiatives. Strong ML/DL knowledge and HPC workflow experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, computational science, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
• Strong academic foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and AI fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and useful user support via phone, walk-in, email, and ticketing system for inquiries.
• Maintain high customer service standards in responding to issues and questions.
• Develop and consult on large-scale Generative AI model training on domain-specific datasets across research areas.
• Assist researchers in fine-tuning foundation models on domain-specific datasets.
• Develop data engineering pipelines to support AI research workflows.
• Design and implement efficient AI workflows optimized for HPC environments.
• Build and maintain OCI-compliant, HPC-ready container images (Singularity/Podman).
• Develop complex workflows using SLURM and Kubernetes for distributed training and inference.
• Conduct computational readiness reviews for AI projects.
• Assist in AI model and artifact control reviews for compliance.
• Provide expert consultation on efficient utilization of AI resources.
• Support usage monitoring and reporting systems.
