Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an Associate Director - Fire & Life Safety to lead a growing specialist team in Dubai, UAE. Responsibilities include directing multidisciplinary design to comply with SBC/UAE Fire Code and international standards, and delivering complex fire safety strategies across major infrastructure projects.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with authorities, and manage multiple projects with a focus on quality and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

Degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
15+ years in fire & life safety with leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of SBC/UAE Fire Code and international standards.
Proven delivery of large-scale GCC projects.
Certification such as CFPS, CEng, PE is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead Fire & Life Safety team on multidisciplinary projects.
Ensure design compliance with codes and standards; develop performance-based solutions.
Conduct onsite inspections during construction to ensure fire strategy adherence.
Coordinate with authorities and present projects demonstrating compliance.
Review submittals and drawings to communicate fire protection needs.
Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
Interface with BIM models to integrate fire safety principles.
Lead CFD analysis interpretation for proposed engineering solutions.
Deliver high-quality fire strategy reports aligned with IFEG and SFPE guides.
Maintain QMS compliance across multiple projects.
