Job summary

SAUDI ARABIAN RESOURCES COMPANY seeks a Laboratory Technician to prepare samples, perform fire assay operations, and control quality in a high‑compliance refinery setting. You will handle cupellation, gravimetric techniques, and precise data entry into LIMS.

The role requires 3+ years in fire assay, a chemistry/metallurgy/geology degree, and strong adherence to safety and ISO 17025 standards. On‑site work in Riyadh with LBMA familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

• Holds a Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, or Geology from an accredited university or TVTC institute.
• Minimum three years of experience in fire assay within mining, refining, or commercial labs.
• Demonstrates practical skills in cupellation, inquartation, and gravimetric analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare production samples by crushing, splitting and pulverizing materials for representative analysis.
• Perform fusion, cupellation and parting procedures to isolate precious metals.
• Operate Atomic Absorption Spectrometers or similar instruments to quantify gold purity.
• Run certified reference materials and duplicates to validate analytical precision and accuracy.
• Conduct routine calibration of balances and furnaces; report issues to maintenance.
• Handle hazardous chemicals in compliance with HSE guidelines and ventilation standards.
• Enter assay results into LIMS for bullion certification and inventory reconciliation.
• Maintain records for ISO 17025 and LBMA audits; ensure audit readiness.
• Prefer experience in LBMA-accredited environments; familiarity with LIMS and refining methods.

Equipment Maintenance Support

This position conducts routine calibration of balances and furnaces while reporting mechanical issues to maintenance staff.

Data Recording Integrity

Success Metrics

Assay precision remains within 0 5 deviation from certified reference values across all shifts.

Zero safety incidents related to chemical handling or furnace operations during the review period.

100 completion of scheduled quality control checks and duplicate sample analyses.

No major non-conformities identified in laboratory practices during internal or external audits.

Sample turnaround time meets daily production targets without compromising analytical accuracy.

All assay data entered into LIMS is accurate and requires no post-validation corrections.

Equipment calibration logs are up to date and available for inspection at all times.
