Job summary

Strategic Office for Developing Al Baha Region is seeking a Financial Controller to monitor and audit financial operations, ensure adherence to laws, and prepare specialized control reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • SOCPA/CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial control, auditing, or accounting.
  • Experience in government sector and familiarity with government regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and document expenditure violations with evidence.
  • Participate in investigation committees related to deficits, embezzlement, or disputes.
  • Prepare documents and reports on financial control results and maintain them per policies.
  • Provide recommendations based on audit findings.
  • Audit financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with departments to address audit observations and follow up actions.
  • Stay updated on latest financial control practices and standards.
  • Follow safety procedures and perform other tasks as directed.

Job description

The Financial Controller will monitor and audit financial operations and expenditure procedures, verify compliance of financial documents with applicable laws and regulations, and prepare specialized financial control reports and recommendations to safeguard the office's financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and approve disbursement documents after verifying their compliance with financial and legal requirements.
  • Monitor and audit financial operations and expenditure procedures, ensuring the availability of approved budget allocations for each expense item.
  • Verify the compliance of financial documents with applicable laws, regulations, and financial policies.
  • Identify and document expenditure violations and prepare supporting data and evidence.
  • Participate in investigation committees related to deficits, embezzlement, or financial disputes.
  • Prepare specialized documents and reports on financial control results, present and clarify them, and maintain them in the database in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
  • Provide recommendations and appropriate solutions based on financial control findings.
  • Audit financial records, accounts, and transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to address audit observations and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on the latest financial control and auditing practices and standards.
  • Follow the office's safety procedures.
  • Perform any other tasks as directed by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (SOCPA, CPA, CIA, or equivalent) is preferred.
Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial control, auditing, or accounting.
  • Experience in the government sector and familiarity with government financial regulations is an added advantage.
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, expenditure procedures, and government accounting standards.
  • Analytical and audit skills for reviewing financial documents and detecting violations.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in preparing financial control reports.
