A leading supermarket company in Riyadh is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee financial accounting, statutory reporting, and compliance with local taxation regulations. The ideal candidate will have 6–10+ years of experience in retail finance, strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle. This role involves leading financial closes, managing audits, and ensuring adherence to IFRS and ZATCA regulations.

Qualifications

  • 6–10+ years of relevant experience in retail / supermarket / FMCG finance.
  • Prior experience handling audits, taxation, and statutory compliance in KSA preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in POS-driven retail environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end financial accounting and statutory reporting.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.

Job Title: Finance Manager – Supermarket Business

Function: Finance

Reporting To: Finance Head

Role Purpose

To own end-to-end financial accounting, statutory reporting, direct and indirect tax compliance, and revenue-to-cash integrity for the supermarket business, ensuring accurate books, regulatory compliance, strong internal controls, and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close including GL, accruals, provisions, and prepayments
  • Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition for POS-driven retail sales
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity including:
    • Cash and bank reconciliations
    • Inventory valuation, shrinkage, and provisions
    • Prepayments, deposits, and other balance sheet items
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and support preparation of management and board presentations
  • Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and IFRS
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, internal audits, and statutory reviews
  • Address audit queries and ensure timely closure of audit findings
B. Cash-to-Customer (C2C)
  • Oversee daily sales posting from POS systems to ERP
  • Ensure reconciliation between ERP sales data and ZATCA portal
  • Review and ensure timely reconciliation of cash, card, and other tenders handled by the offshore C2C team
  • Ensure complete adherence to store SOPs related to cash handling and card transactions
  • Strengthen controls to minimize revenue leakage and reconciliation gaps
C. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
  • Support the Finance Head in ensuring full compliance with ZATCA requirements, including:
    • VAT
    • Withholding Tax (WHT)
    • Corporate Income Tax
    • Any other applicable statutory obligations
  • Work closely with tax consultants and support them in preparation and filing of returns
  • Liaise with ZATCA on audits, assessments, notices, queries, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, regulatory reporting, and record retention policies
  • Track changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on financial reporting and business operations
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and retail accounting
  • Hands-on experience in POS-driven retail environments
  • Solid understanding of VAT, ZATCA compliance, and statutory reporting
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with offshore/shared service teams
  • High attention to detail with a strong control and compliance mindset
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills
Qualifications & Experience
  • 6–10+ years of relevant experience in retail / supermarket / FMCG finance
  • Prior experience handling audits, taxation, and statutory compliance in KSA (preferred)
  • ERP experience (SAP / Oracle / similar retail ERP preferred)
