Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an Associate/Principal Electrical Design Engineer for data centres and mission critical facilities. The role leads multidisciplinary design, advisory, and delivery across the region, ensuring solutions meet global standards for resilience and sustainability.

You will engage clients, set project strategy, and lead teams while driving business development and governance across lifecycle stages from concept to execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in mission-critical/data centre design, delivery, or advisory.
• Strong understanding of Tier standards, NFPA, ASHRAE, Uptime Institute guidelines.
• Proven experience in GCC markets (UAE and/or KSA).
• Experience with large consultancies or international engineering firms.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, integration, and delivery of electrical and MEP systems for mission-critical data centre projects.
• Provide technical governance by reviewing engineering deliverables aligned with standards and client requirements.
• Drive development of modular, cloud, colocation, and hyperscale data centre solutions.
• Act as the primary client interface, building advisory relationships across key accounts in the region.
• Lead technical workshops, design reviews, and senior stakeholder presentations.
• Own project strategy, ensuring delivery excellence from concept to execution.
• Drive business development including bid leadership, proposal strategy, and commercial positioning.
• Identify opportunities in digital infrastructure, hyperscale, and cloud ecosystems.
• Collaborate with regional leadership to expand the mission-critical/data centre service offering.
• Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Oversee resource planning, utilization, and capability development within the data centre practice.
• Ensure solutions meet resilience, sustainability, scalability, and operational efficiency benchmarks.
