Job summary

Artelia Middle-East is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Lead to coordinate LV/MV network design for critical infrastructures across the GCC, including airports, power plants, and water treatment facilities in KSA/UAE.

You will interface with clients and remote design teams, lead design reviews and workshops, manage changes and documentation, and ensure adherence to IEC, IEEE and SEC standards, including rehabilitation of existing MV/LV systems and coordination of multi-discipline

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of LV/MV network design experience for critical infrastructures.
  • Experience in LV/MV network rehabilitation projects.
  • Experience in GCC, mainly UAE and KSA.
  • Brownfield electrical projects experience.
  • Experience in engineering consultancies.
  • Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and SEC standards.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English.
  • Professional grade in SCE

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate directly with Stakeholders through the entire design process.
  • Manage design reviews, technical workshops, value engineering sessions, and coordination meetings.
  • Interface with client and remote design team as the main point of contact.
  • Coordinate design changes, clarifications, and document revisions through the project lifecycle.
  • Apply expertise in LV/MV design for substations, switchgear, transformers, RMUs, cables, protection systems, and grounding.
  • Ensure electrical design covers all phases from concept through IFC documentation.
  • Monitor design schedules, deliverables, and engineering progress.
  • Coordinate rehabilitation strategies for existing MV/LV infrastructure across GCC.
  • Review interfaces between electrical, civil, structural, mechanical, I&C, telecoms, and architectural disciplines.
  • Review technical specifications, equipment datasheets, BoQs, and cost estimates.

Job description

  • Coordinate directly with Stakeholders through the entire design process.
  • Manage design reviews, technical workshops, value engineering sessions, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
  • Be the interface point between client and remote design team.
  • Coordinate design changes, technical clarifications, and document revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Experienced in electrical calculations, equipment sizing, single-line diagrams, protection philosophies, cable routing and grounding design.
  • Knowledge of electrical design throughout all project phases, from technical assessment and concept design through detailed design and IFC documentation.
  • Monitor design schedules, deliverables, and engineering progress.
  • Coordinate rehabilitation strategies for existing MV/LV electrical infrastructure, including substations, switchgear, transformers, RMUs, cables, protection systems, and associated equipment.
  • Coordinate for asset condition assessment and site survey information to determine rehabilitation requirements and design constraints.
  • Review and coordinate interfaces between electrical, civil, structural, mechanical, instrumentation & control, telecommunications, and architectural disciplines.
  • Review technical specifications, equipment datasheets, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and cost estimates.
2- QUALIFICATION
  • At least 10 years of experience in LV/MV Network design for critical infrastructures such as Airports, Power Plants, Wastewater Treatment Plants, etc.
  • Experience in LV and MV Network rehabilitation projects.
  • Experience in projects in GCC, mainly in UAE and KSA.
  • Experience in Brownfield Electrical projects.
  • Experience working within engineering consultancies is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of IEC and IEEE Standards as well as SEC (Saudi Electrical Company) standards
  • Fluent in Arabic and English
  • Professional grade in Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE)
