Job Opening: Electrical Commissioning Engineer (Valid Iqama Required)

Contract Duration: Immediate Start to April 2026

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team until April 2026. The ideal candidate must have a combined cycle power plant, experience, valid Iqama and a strong working knowledge of electrical testing procedures and codes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provision of both management and technical leadership to turnover of the Electrical scope of work to support gated process to start-up and hand over.
  • To plan and direct the work in accordance with the Program/Schedule with direct input into the development of framework execution plans, procedures, method statements and work packs for the Electrical scope of work including HV, MV & LV Systems as required.
  • To Manage the Electrical Testing using detailed knowledge of Principles and Procedures on HV, MV, LV, Protection Systems, Switchgear, MCC’s, Distribution Systems and electrical equipment including the interface with the DCS and/or Turbine Control System (TCS) and Generator Control Panels.
  • A detailed knowledge of Grid Code requirements for the Project Country location.
  • Provide the leadership of high-level systems expertise and lead advanced process control techniques for process optimization.
  • To plan the works by System to meet the schedule and sequence.
  • To attend and actively participate in the project daily and weekly meetings.
  • To manage fault finding and rectification processes within the time constraints of the programme.
  • Train others in proper, effective use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems and networks
  • Ensure all testing and verification documents are completed and verified to support the handover process.
  • Ensure “As Built” red line drawings and documentation are available and on file for any changes or modifications.
  • Understand all project related permits and works to identify any actions which may produce a violation of those permits.
  • Support the Customers Manager in enforcement of contract terms & Conditions through interactions with contract executives and site supervisor.
  • Support the Customers Manager in evaluating project performance and managing change.
  • Provide detailed information to the Customers Manager for the preparation of the site startup portion of the Monthly Project Execution Report.
  • Ensure a Project Daily Report is provided to the Customers Manager as required.
  • Ensure a daily log of site significant activities is maintained.
  • Support the Project Manager & Project Controls Manager on schedule, cost forecasting change orders and any project related claims.
  • Address site startup risks that arise on the project as a result of the Electrical Scope of work.
  • Ensuring that all activities are completed in accordance with the Project Health, Safety, Security and Environmental requirements.
  • Facilitate the team and process owners in defining corrective and preventive actions to prevent compliance failures and escapes and improve overall compliance
  • Facilitate risk assessments for process changes which may impact the internal and external customer’s expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Customers Manager.

Scope
  • Manages the Electrical Commissioning team at site to deliver the requirements of the project specific requirements and scope of work and in line with the project schedule.
Principal Working Relationships
  • Reports directly on a daily and weekly basis, with written reports, to the Project Lead to deliver the functional requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal to no instruction as well as able to work as part of the Mechanical Team.
  • Direct working relationship with the Senior Leadership teams and Client representatives.
