Job summary

Watania Steel in Riyadh is seeking a Cost & Inventory Accountant to join its Finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller. The role focuses on monitoring production costs and maintaining strict inventory control across manufacturing operations.

You will analyze variances, manage ERP-recorded transactions (SAP preferred), coordinate with Production, Warehouse, and Procurement, and assist budgeting and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of experience in cost accounting and inventory control, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of inventory accounting and cost calculation methods.
• Strong Excel skills and hands-on experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is a strong advantage.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Comfort working on the shop floor and building relationships with operational teams.
• Professional fluency in Arabic and English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production costs, material consumption, and cost variances.
• Maintain inventory records and reconcile stock with system balances.
• Monitor raw materials, consumables, WIP, and finished goods.
• Participate in stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare reports on inventory movements, material use, and costs.
• Record inventory transactions in the ERP accurately.
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, and Procurement to control costs and inventory.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting; analyze variances.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities :

• Monitor and analyze production costs, material consumption, and cost variances.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile physical stock counts with system balances.
• Monitor raw materials, consumables, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Participate in stock counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Prepare periodic reports on inventory movements, material consumption, and production costs.
• Ensure accurate recording of inventory transactions in the ERP system.
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, and Procurement teams to ensure effective cost and inventory control.
• Assist in budget preparation and periodic forecasting, monitor actual performance against budget, and analyze related variances.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of experience in cost accounting and inventory control, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of inventory accounting and cost calculation methods.
