Responsibilities

  • Administer FIDIC, NEC, and bespoke contracts in accordance with contractual obligations and applicable Saudi Arabian law.
  • Manage day-to-day contract administration across assigned project packages and workstreams.
  • Identify contractual and financial risks early and recommend practical mitigation measures.
  • Assess variations, change orders, claims, and potential disputes using relevant contract provisions and project records.
  • Support negotiation and resolution of significant commercial and contractual matters.
  • Monitor compliance with contract terms, notice requirements, approvals, and other procedural obligations.
  • Advise project teams on contract interpretation, entitlement, risk allocation, and contractual strategy.
  • Coordinate with cost and finance teams on budget impacts, forecasts, and commercial exposure.

Role Context

The Contracts Manager will support project delivery by maintaining strong contractual governance across a complex portfolio of construction packages. The role will focus on contract administration, change control, claims, commercial risk, procurement interfaces, and dispute avoidance. Effective management of contractual obligations and emerging liabilities will help protect project value, support budget and schedule objectives, and ensure that commercial decisions remain aligned with Saudi Arabian requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer FIDIC, NEC, and bespoke contracts in accordance with contractual obligations and applicable Saudi Arabian law.
  • Manage day-to-day contract administration across assigned project packages and workstreams.
  • Identify contractual and financial risks early and recommend practical mitigation measures.
  • Assess variations, change orders, claims, and potential disputes using relevant contract provisions and project records.
  • Support negotiation and resolution of significant commercial and contractual matters.
  • Evaluate Change Requests and maintain the required documentation through Engineer 's Instructions and Variation Orders.
  • Confirm that proposed changes are supported by appropriate technical, cost, schedule, and contractual evidence.
  • Monitor compliance with contract terms, notice requirements, approvals, and other procedural obligations.
  • Advise project teams on contract interpretation, entitlement, risk allocation, and contractual strategy.
  • Support implementation of commercial and contract management strategies that improve value and project outcomes.
  • Coordinate with cost and finance teams on budget impacts, forecasts, and commercial exposure.
  • Prepare contractual reports, forecasts, cost assessments, and management summaries.
  • Work with procurement teams to align contracting activities with project requirements and organizational policies.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with consultants, suppliers, contractors, and other delivery stakeholders.
  • Review contractor and consultant performance from a commercial and contractual perspective.
  • Develop contingency measures for emerging contractual, financial, and delivery challenges.
  • Represent project interests during commercial meetings and negotiations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, organizational, and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable records of correspondence, notices, approvals, changes, and claims.
  • Present key contractual risks, claims, variations, and recommendations to senior management.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor 's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in contracts management, commercial management, or related construction functions.
  • Strong background across multiple construction, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
  • Extensive practical knowledge of FIDIC contract forms.
  • Familiarity with NEC and bespoke contract arrangements.
  • Proven experience managing large and complex contracts.
  • Strong understanding of commercial management principles, procurement processes, and contract administration.

  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabian regulations, regional construction practices, and industry standards.
  • Experience in PMO, Delivery Partner, PMC, or major program environments is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in project management software and financial tools.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capability.
  • Able to manage complex stakeholder relationships under time pressure.
  • MRICS or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with attention to contractual and financial accuracy.
