Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and cost/variance tracking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements to mitigate risk.
  • Provide ongoing contract support ensuring compliance with practices.
  • Support pre/post contract awards processes.
  • Ensure staffing adequacy for contracts against project needs.
  • Engage with legal team when needed to resolve disputes quickly.
  • Brief stakeholders on contractual obligations and impacts of variances.
  • Maintain contract logs and support change management.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Contracts Administrator must possess expertise in; Commercial, legal and contractual awareness, along with leadership and motivation. Also, this Contracts Administrator must assist in provide assurance of project delivery in accordance with Project, Business Unit and Company objectives. Respect, adhere and enhance company reputation for safety, excellence and moral integrity, remain vigilant to identify risk areas and opportunities in accordance with Contract(s), Company Policy and Procedures, Regulatory Practices, Code of Conduct and Ethics and Legislation.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Develop, negotiate, and manage all commercial agreements/contracts to mitigate risk and optimize opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing commercial/contract support, ensuring commercial practices comply.
  • Support the pre/post contracts awards process.
  • Competent understanding of contract(s) and the required administration thereof.
  • Ensure contracts staffing requirements, both numbers and quality, are adequate to meet project requirements.
  • Utilize professional experience to verify, oversee, negotiate and/or approve commercial agreements with third parties.
  • Comply with Lines and Limits of Authority.
  • Analyze and report on complex situations and potential opportunities/risks of Variations to cost and schedule.
  • Ensure that Procedures are followed and suggest changes if there is scope for improvement.
  • Maintain good relations and facilitate exchange of information between company and contractors and internally to assure alignment of strategic objectives.
  • Review contract specifications, works with Stakeholders (PM/PD) to identify risks or gaps.
  • Selectively engage legal team on occasion when legal support is necessary.
  • Protect business interests by ensuring that the contractual disputes are resolved quickly and diligently.
  • Fully understand and consequently brief relevant parties on the interpretation of the commercial obligations on both Contracts and Clients, and the commercial/contractual impact of any failure to achieve these obligations.
  • Be an active member in the cross-functional project team, liaising with Engineering, Procurement, Operations and other Functions; identify potential areas of concern and resolve them before they become issues.
  • Follow and comply with Company, Project procedures and techniques, suggesting updates or integrations deemed beneficiary.
  • Ensure good practice and strict controls are implemented in relation to change orders, variations, claims, etc. (including the assessment of fee claims and advising on dispute resolution).
  • Maintain contract logs / tracking sheets and comply with reporting protocols.
  • Support claim and change management process.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • +5 Years working experience.
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Economics, Business, Engineering, Accounting, or related disciplines.
  • Industry Sector Experience, Oil & Gas, Energy, Industrial Gases.
  • Competent knowledge & understanding of contract law and commercial/contracts management.
  • Analytical skills associated with developing and utilizing performance measures and cost savings.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong sense of responsibility with a professional attitude and reputation.
  • Good skills at organizing, analyzing and coordinating.
  • Knowledge of the Saudi market vendors and suppliers.
  • Skill in using Internet and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power-point).
