Job Summary

The Contract Engineer is responsible for contract administration, commercial management, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle. The role supports the project team in managing contracts, claims, variations, and correspondence in accordance with contract terms, project procedures, and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer project contracts in accordance with contract conditions (FIDIC or similar).
  • Review and manage contractual correspondence, notices, and records.
  • Assist in preparation, evaluation, and negotiation of variation orders and change requests.
  • Review contractors’ claims, extensions of time (EOT), and cost impact submissions.
  • Support interim payment applications (IPCs) and final accounts preparation.
  • Monitor contractual risks, obligations, and entitlements.
  • Coordinate with project controls, planning, and cost teams on contractual matters.
  • Ensure proper contract documentation, filing, and record keeping.
  • Provide contractual advice to the project management team.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering preferred).
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in contract administration for infrastructure or water & wastewater projects.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and standard forms of contract.
  • Experience in claims management, variations, and contract correspondence.
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and contract management systems.
