Job summary

TechnipFMC is seeking a COOP trainee in manufacturing support to assist with the management of CNC cutting tools, general tools and fixtures. You will work under guidance to analyze consumption, forecast demand, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen and A3 projects.

The role emphasizes data analysis, tool traceability and practical improvements, with a six-month placement and collaboration with Operations Support and Operational Excellence teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in industrial/mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related field and eligible for COOP placement.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, CNC cutting tools, tools and fixtures, inventory control and Lean principles.
• No prior professional experience required; academic projects or exposure to manufacturing/data analysis helpful.

Responsibilities

• Study current practices for managing CNC cutting tools, general tools and fixtures; identify gaps and recommend improvements.
• Analyze cutting-tool consumption, cost and tool-life data to identify opportunities to reduce consumption.
• Use consumption trends, production requirements, stock levels and supplier lead times to inform demand forecasting and quantities.
• Support a simple tool-tracking system and pilot improvements; document results and hand over recommendations after placement.
• Support 5S audits and Kaizen activities and follow up improvement actions with area owners.
• Assist pull-system and A3 projects through data collection, gap analysis and progress tracking.
