Job summary

Aviagen seeks a Civil Engineer to lead design review, site supervision, and technical coordination on our construction projects. You will ensure alignment with drawings, specs, and regulatory requirements while collaborating with project teams, consultants, and contractors on complex civil and structural works.

Reporting on progress, inspections, QA/QC, and risk management, you will drive quality and timely handover, linking architectural, mechanical, and electrical interfaces to achieve project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of civil/structural design principles and codes.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary construction activities on large projects.

Responsibilities

• Review design drawings, shop drawings, specs, BOQs and method statements.
• Supervise civil/structural works to ensure compliance with drawings and specs.
• Coordinate with architecture, mechanical and electrical teams for integrated building systems.

Job Description Summary: The Civil Engineer is responsible for the review, coordination, and supervision of all civil and structural aspects of AAR's construction projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements, design intent, quality standards, operational needs, and applicable regulations. Acting on behalf of the Owner, the Civil Engineer provides technical oversight throughout the design, procurement, construction, testing, and handover phases, ensuring that civil and structural works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project objectives, and contractual requirements. The role is site-based and works closely with GPP (Aviagen's design and construction supervision consultant), project managers, contractors, suppliers, and site supervision teams to supervise, coordinate, inspect, approve, and resolve technical issues, monitor progress, manage interfaces between disciplines, and support successful project delivery.

Job Description: Design & Technical Review

• Review design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, technical specifications, BOQs, and method statements for civil and structural works.
• Review and approve material selections and technical specifications for façade systems, waterproofing systems, and specialized building components.
• Provide technical recommendations to improve functionality, constructability, maintainability, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

Site Supervision & Construction Monitoring

• Review and supervise civil and structural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure proper implementation of civil infrastructure, buildings, and site development works.
• Supervise earthworks, roads, drainage systems, utility corridors, concrete and steel works, foundations, and building construction activities.
• Coordinate closely with architectural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to ensure proper integration of all building systems.

Inspection, Testing & Quality Control

• Track, review, and approve the full inspection cycle: vendor, subcontractor, material, and testing-laboratory approval; verification of materials on delivery; stage-by-stage inspection and acceptance of works; testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and final handover; and support for quantity verification, progress measurement, and payment certification.
• Participate in inspections, snagging activities, punch list reviews, and final handover processes.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance and quality control requirements.

Coordination & Procurement Support

• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and site supervisors on all civil and structural matters.
• Support procurement activities through technical evaluation of suppliers, subcontractors, materials, and construction systems.

Reporting & Risk Management

• Monitor progress against project schedules, identifying risks, delays, and potential technical issues.
• Prepare technical reports, site observations, progress updates, and recommendations for project management and clients.

HSE Compliance

Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
