Job summary

Aviagen is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to oversee all mechanical aspects of our construction projects on site, ensuring compliance with design intent, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. You will provide technical oversight from design through handover, interfacing with the Owner, GPP, project managers, contractors, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical drawings, calculations, submittals, shop drawings, material approvals, and method statements.
• Review and supervise the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with design documents, technical specifications, and codes.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure proper integration of all systems.
• Track, review, and approve the full inspection cycle: vendor, subcontractor, material, and testing-laboratory approvals; verification of materials on delivery; stage-by-stage inspection and acceptance; testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and site supervisors on mechanical engineering matters.
• Monitor project progress and report risks, delays, or technical concerns; prepare technical reports and progress updates.
• Ensure mechanical installations comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
