What is the Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job?

Reporting to the RHQ Saudi Director, the POC Business Developer will be responsible for driving and supporting KSA and ME in the implementation of the POC strategy to maximize the METER business results, in alignment with the METER guidelines and strategy.

Highly motivated and results-driven Business Developer will expand our presence in the Point-of-Care (POC) diagnostics field. The role will focus on identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with healthcare stakeholders, and be responsible for deciding the appropriate G2M channel for the success of POC business, driving sustainable revenue growth through strategic market development.

This role is based in KSA or UAE (Riyadh / Dubai).

What will your responsibilities within bioMérieux?

Market Development and Growth:

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in hospitals, clinics, laboratories & primary care settings
  • Assess untapped market and understand customer needs
  • Develop and implement go‑to‑market strategies for POC diagnostic solutions in KSA and ME countries (Turkey to be included later).
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes impacting the diagnostics field.
  • Support partners in funnel development, customer engagement, and market visibility.

Sales & Business Expansion:

  • Build and manage with distributors & ADM’s a pipeline of new accounts and partnerships aligned with METER marketing strategy and guidelines
  • Drive revenue growth through partners together with ADMs.
  • Support the negotiations of contracts, pricing, and commercial agreements (Usually this is distributor job and not bMx team, we need to find correct wording)
  • Create business plans and strategies adapted to each market.
  • Seek ways of improving the way the business operates.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers, including physicians, lab managers, procurement teams, payers and healthcare administrators.
  • Collaborate with KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) to support adoption of new technologies.
  • Partner with distributors to enhance regional market coverage.

Strategic Execution:

  • Work closely with marketing, product management & other support functions teams to develop tailored value propositions.
  • Support tender processes and respond to RFPs/RFQs with competitive offers (Through distributors).
  • Training distributor sales team on POC sales process.
  • Provide feedback from the market to influence product strategy and portfolio expansion.
Who are you?
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Business, or related field (master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within healthcare or diagnostics (POC experience is strongly required).
  • Strong business acumen, focused on pragmatic/clear/simple approach, able to adapt and learn quickly.
  • Ability to perform both qualitative and quantitative analysis, knowledge of financial tools.
  • Strong understanding of the POC diagnostics market, technologies, and workflows.
  • Proven track record in achieving business growth and building partnerships.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and travel across METER countries (40% of time‑TBD).
