Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Steel Welding Inspector – Bridges to oversee the quality of structural steel fabrication, welding, and erection for major bridge projects. You will inspect welds, verify materials, review WPS/PQR, and witness NDT as part of a coordinated QA/QC effort on site.

Requirements include a Diploma or Bachelor’s in a relevant field and 10+ years in steel fabrication and welding inspection, with CSWIP 3.1/3.2 or AWS CWI preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in steel fabrication, welding inspection and quality control.
• Experience with bridges, highways or major transportation infrastructure is highly preferred.
• Welding inspection certification (CSWIP 3.1/3.2 or AWS CWI) and NDT knowledge are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and surveil structural steel fabrication and welding for bridges and related infrastructure.
• Verify welds, materials, and processes against drawings, WPS/PQR, and certificates.
• Witness and review NDT activities (UT, MT, PT, RT) and ensure proper repair and closeout of NCRs.
• Coordinate with contractors, QA/QC teams, and project management to meet ITPs and specifications.
• Maintain weld identification, traceability, and reporting for quality dossiers.
