Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Maintenance Engineer to review, design and analysis of control systems and information technologies (automation) across the entire Tuwaiq Casting & Forging Facility. This includes routine / non routine activities, technical support, automation systems inspection, data collection and troubleshooting, and reliability implementation. Needs no supervision to handle routine jobs and minimum supervision for non-routine engineering and maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities
Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
  • Adheres to EHS regulations & guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
  • Set job safety procedure standards (JSP) and maintain safe performance of all work.
  • Take appropriate action to maintain the workplace clean and tidy at all times in line with company standards.
  • Contribute to reporting near misses and incidents as well as site inspection and investigation.
Engineering & Maintenance Support
  • Alignment, implementation, and technical support to meeting the operational reliability level specified for Tuwaiq Casting & Forging Facility.
  • Assist Tuwaiq Casting & Forging Facility maintenance department to implement site-wide maintenance strategy applying "Lessons Learned".
  • Assist area engineers by providing advanced trouble shooting capabilities and resolves more complex technical problems in order to get the system / equipment back in running condition.
  • Assists in the maintenance or emergency repairs / inspections and provides technical automation assistance to maintenance supervisors and technicians as assigned.
  • Provides recommendations for preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance for Tuwaiq Casting & Forging Facility automation systems.
  • Participates, when assigned, in site inspections and safety, quality or production investigations.
  • Collects and does engineering data analysis, evaluates conceptual engineering plans and prepares & evaluates the designs and plans according to specifications.
  • Conducts Bad Actors, chronic Failure Elimination / Root Cause Analysis (RCA) studies as requested and follows recommendations implementation with concerned parties.
  • Reviews and ensures technical proposals for outsourced maintenance services for automation have clear scope of work for routine or down day activities. Overseas automation maintenance services.
  • Ensures that the received data, drawings and documentation concerning engineering and maintenance from project contractor and vendors are complete as per project contract specifications.
  • Reviews and assists in Reliability methodologies e.g. Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Reliability Based Inspection (RBI), Reliability Instrument Safety (RIS), assigns equipment criticality rankings, performs failure analysis, and recommends mitigation strategies.
  • Works closely with area engineers, maintenance supervisors and planners to ensure each maintainable automation system / equipment has a maintenance plan and needed spare parts are ordered and stocked.
  • Attends supplier automation integration tests, participates in factory acceptance tests, and site-based commissioning of automation equipment and system.
  • Proposes revamping projects /capex projects, prepares scope of work and specifications to improve Tuwaiq Casting & Forging facility / equipments availability and participates in reviewing supervising and implementing the approved projects.
  • Strives in implementing 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing (LM) and Reliability Excellence (REX) for automation through Tuwaiq Casting & Forging Facility.
HR, Leadership, Training & Coaching
  • Provides on-site, hands-on mentorship to newly hired / new comers Tuwaiq Casting & Forging Facility maintenance automation / electrical engineers or technicians includes training, coaching and guidance to engineers for execution of work control and maintenance processes.
  • Assists with the recruitment of experienced and competent area engineers, maintenance supervisors, maintenance engineers and technicians for Tuwaiq Casting & Forging Facility.
  • Prepares, conducts training courses on automation to improve skills of operations, engineering and maintenance personnel.
  • Develops and maintains Effective and positive relationships with a wide-range of personnel.
Reports Generation
  • Provides a role in the establishment and implementation of maintenance work control / performance monitoring procedures and key performance indicators (KPls).
  • Ensures maintenance schedules are accurately maintained and maintenance reports are correctly entered in Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Asset Management as well as communicates to all concerned operation and maintenance focal points timely.
  • Develops technical maintenance and engineering reports as requested.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Control Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of technical experience in a similar field.
  • Working knowledge of relevant engineering principles and practices in a melting, casting & forging & machining shops facility or relevant industry in automation / instrumentation field.
  • Attended specialized training in instrumentation and automation.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Distributed Control System (DCS) and Human Machine Interface (HMI), Automated Storage, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Advanced Process Control (APC), Emergency Shutdown System (ESD), Machine Monitoring and instrumentation devices.
  • Data gathering techniques for organizing & interpreting data and ability to accurately compile, interpret and apply a variety of field notes, data tables and other information to engineering problems.
  • Computer literacy including but not limited to Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) Asset Management and MS Office software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and understand technical writing and ability to understand and interpret complex and technical information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to present research findings in clear, objective, written report form.
