Job summary

Nera in Jeddah is seeking an Automation Trainee to gain hands-on experience in commercial automation systems by supporting the Automation Engineer with project execution and ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

You will assist with documentation, configuration, testing, site visits, and handover activities, while developing fundamentals in BMS, SCADA/PLC, and related networks under the Tamheer program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems, Communications or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware and software.
• Knowledge of computer networks and communication protocols.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing project documentation, including drawings, schedules, material submittals, and progress reports.
• Support the configuration, programming, testing, and commissioning of automation and control systems (BMS, SCADA/PLC, HVAC controls, and related networks).
• Help review client requirements, specifications, and applicable codes/standards, flag deviations to the Automation Engineer.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, and testing activities, and record findings and as-built information.
• Maintain project files, equipment lists, and system backups, and support the close-out and handover process.

We are looking for an Automation Trainee to join our Technology & Solutions team and gain hands-on experience in Commercial Automation systems projects by assisting the Automation Engineer with project execution and ensuring that projects meet client needs and requirements in accordance with local, regional, and international regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing project documentation, including drawings, schedules, material submittals, and progress reports.
• Support the configuration, programming, testing, and commissioning of automation and control systems (BMS, SCADA/PLC, HVAC controls, and related networks).
• Help review client requirements, specifications, and applicable local, regional, and international codes and standards, and flag deviations to the Automation Engineer.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, and testing activities, and record findings and as-built information. (if possible).
• Maintain project files, equipment lists, and system backups, and support the close-out and handover process.
