Job summary

ABB Limited in Saudi Arabia seeks an instrumentation/electrical engineer to support engineering activities across projects of varying sizes and complexities. You will collect data, assist in design production, and develop process control solutions under senior engineers’ guidance.

The role involves basic survey work, documentation, and participation in workshops. Travel to sites domestically/overseas may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics).
• 3–5 years of control systems experience; ABB systems is a plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically/overseas for project needs.
• Team-oriented, self-motivated, quick learner, adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic survey work and standard automation engineering tasks.
• Collect data and support engineering design production.
• Prepare documentation and apply standard methods with limited details.
• Participate in meetings and workshops related to engineering, design, tools and processes.
• Work on graphic/application engineering development in DCS.
• Program, implement, test and document process control applications.
• Understand control narratives and P&ID drawings.
• Assist in preparing proposals/presentations with BOMs and engineering hours.

This position reports to:

Operations Manager

Your role:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support engineering activities across projects of varying sizes and complexities under the guidance of senior engineers. You will be responsible for completing assigned tasks in a cost-effective manner while ensuring compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies. You will also contribute to the engineering design process by collecting data, performing analyses, and supporting the development of technical solutions.

The work model for the role is: hybrid/on-site.

This role contributes to the SA-OPC Business Line within the Middle East region. The position supports engineering activities and project execution while collaborating with key stakeholders, including Sales, Product Management, and Business Development teams, to deliver customer-focused solutions and achieve business objectives.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• . Exercises judgement on limited details of work and on application of standard methods & prepare relevant documentation
• . Supporting communication pertaining to specific assignments in meetings.
• . Participate in workshops related to engineering, design, tools and processes.
• . Work in graphic / application engineering development in DCS
• . Program, implement, test and document process control applications.
• . Ability to understand control narratives, P&ID's.
• . Assists in preparing proposal / presentation of engineering projects / programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).

• . Control Systems Experience: 3-5 years of experience with control systems. ABB systems will be an advantage.

• . Willingness to travel domestic / overseas based on project need.
