Job summary

ABB is seeking a senior DCS engineer to lead medium to high complexity process automation projects across multiple disciplines. You will evaluate standard techniques, design to-be integrations, and mentor project teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include preparing proposals, ensuring quality deliverables on time and within cost, and collaborating with Sales, Product Management, and IT to deliver customer-focused solutions. Willingness to travel offshore/onshore is required.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in Process Automation for large Oil & Gas/refinery/petrochemical complexes.
• Experience with high-complexity DCS architectures and multi-system interfaces.
• Knowledge of system installation, server/client integration in virtual environments.

Deliver quality customer service to satisfy customers.The work model for the role is: hybrid/on-site.This role contributes to the SA-OPC Business Line within the Middle East region. The position supports engineering activities and project execution while collaborating with key stakeholders, including Sales, Product Management, and Business Development teams, to deliver customer-focused solutions and achieve business objectives.You will be mainly accountable for:· Efficiently Lead medium to high complex projects comprising of all disciplines· Evaluate, selects and applies standard techniques and procedures to perform Engineering assignments in projects.· Assists in preparing proposal/presentation of service engineering projects/programs.· Identify customer (internal or external) requirements, analyze and document as-is process and process interfaces, discover process gaps, design to-be integration in collaboration with business resources.· Creates work plans and cost estimates for overall scope and ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost.· Mentor & guide the team through the project aspects.· Provides technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities.· Collaborate with business & other IT teams to deliver solutions within timeline.· Assist customer and technical issues, interacts with official contracts.· Proactively identifies suggestions for product, quality and customer service improvement and discusses them with management for changes.· Interact with various stakeholders understand the customer demands, update self with latest trends and technologies used in process automation domain.· Understanding of the complete project life cycle including project deliverables is must.· Collaborates on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors.What it takes to Run what runs the world· Bachelor's Degree - Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & communications· 8-10 years’ experience in Process Automation especially in the field of Large Oil & Gas / Refineries / Petrochemicals complexes· Experience in High complex DCS Architecture which involves multiple systems and interfaces with third party systems.· Experience on DCS- Retrofits, Upgrades, Service and Commissioning.· Knowledge in the system installation, integration of servers and client computers in virtual environment, windows Administration.· Experience in Virtualization concepts, ESXi Setup, Raid configuration and VMware Configuration.· Working knowledge on Managed switches, Routers and Firewalls.· Knowledge in designing System and Network Hardening and develop Cyber security designs· Experience in configuring MacAfee epo, WSUS.· Working knowledge on Domain configuration and Active directory configuration for larger systems includes defining group policies.· Process Automation knowledge – Application programming (Oil & Gas/ Refineries /Petrochemicals and Power & Water)· Knowledge on Third party Communication like MODBUS, OPC.· Having ABB 800xA System knowledge (System,800xA History, 800xA Information management).· Having ABB legacy system(Advant, Safeguard, Infi90, SCADAVantage) experience can be an advantage.· Configuration of Network Switches/Routers/Firewall, Configuration of Field devices like HART, Profibus & Foundation Fieldbus, Asset Optimization will be added advantage.· Must have Good Communication & Leadership Capabilities.· Must be a team player, self-motivated, quick learner, adaptable and flexible.· Work experience in projects with customers from multiple geographical areas /multi-cultural is an added advantage.· Competent in Alarm management solutions.· Willingness to relocate overseas.· Willingness to travel to offshore & onshore sites.What's in it for you?We want you to bring your full self to work—your ideas, your energy, your ambition.
