The Department of Chemical Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) invites applications for faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor), with a particular emphasis on early‑career researchers pursuing impactful research in emerging and strategic areas of chemical engineering.
We seek outstanding candidates in innovative and interdisciplinary research areas that align with the RDIA priorities under Saudi Vision 2030, particularly:
- Sustainable Energy and Carbon Management (e.g., hydrogen production, carbon capture, utilization and storage [CCUS], energy efficiency)
- Advanced Materials and Chemical Manufacturing (e.g., polymers, nanomaterials, catalysis)
- Environmental Technologies (e.g., water treatment, waste valorization, green processing)
- Industrial Process Optimization, Automation, and Safety (e.g., process intensification, AI in chemical engineering, smart manufacturing)
The Chemical Engineering Department at KFUPM is a leading academic unit in the region with a strong tradition of research excellence, industry collaboration, and impactful teaching. Faculty members have access to state‑of‑the‑art facilities and benefit from interdisciplinary research centers at KFUPM.
Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise and mentor students, supervise MS and PhD theses, and develop a funded research program appropriate to their field of specialization. The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to quality education and student interaction.
- Two‑year renewable contract.
