Role Overview

A leading and well-established group of companies in Saudi Arabia, with a strong and growing presence in the FMCG sector, is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead and manage area-level FMCG sales operations across the assigned territory.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the scope of this role is comparable to a Regional Sales Manager level in Sri Lanka’s FMCG sector, covering full responsibility for area-level sales performance, distributor and sales team management, and market execution.

The role focuses on driving sales growth through effective forecasting, disciplined execution, strong customer relationships, and close coordination with internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage sales forecasting activities while setting and tracking area-level performance targets.
  • Manage key customer relationships and support sales teams in negotiations and deal closures.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports highlighting volumes, growth opportunities, and potential market expansion.
  • Monitor and control retail sales expenditures in line with approved sales budgets.
  • Handle and reduce customer complaints to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate delivery timelines and smooth sales operations.
  • Oversee the preparation and management of sales contracts and proposals in line with internal policies.
  • Liaise with ICT teams regarding handheld terminal (HHT) matters, including updates, device allocation, and system issues.
  • Plan, optimize, and manage retail sales routes, including creation, restructuring, and closure of unprofitable routes.
  • Supervise stores and depots within the assigned area through regular site visits and performance analysis.
  • Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and compliance standards of sales vehicles.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5–6 years of experience in a related field; FMCG (Food Products) experience is mandatory, with exposure to short shelf / fast-moving food products highly preferred.
  • Prior exposure to Saudi Arabia is highly preferred.
  • Fluency in English is Mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of retail sales strategies, tools, and forecasting techniques.
