Job summary

Fakeeh Care in Riyadh is seeking a skilled anesthesiologist to administer general, regional, and neuraxial anesthesia tailored to patient needs while ensuring perioperative safety. You will perform pre-anesthesia assessments, monitor patients during procedures, and oversee recovery and discharge decisions in a high-standard hospital setting.

Responsibilities include managing pain, documenting medications and responses, collaborating with surgeons and staff, and educating patients and families

Qualifications

• Structured training in Anesthesia or sub-specialty in a recognized center.
• Highest professional degree in anesthesia with regional authority recognition.
• Current license from regional health regulatory authority (e.g., SCFHS/DHA).
• BLS certification and advanced licenses if applicable.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Administers anesthesia using general, local, neuraxial, or ultrasound guided blocks per clinical privileges.
• Performs pre-anesthesia and induction assessments for planned procedures.
• Monitors and manages pain and vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
• Responds to adverse reactions or complications and maintains patient safety.
• Maintains accurate documentation of anesthesia administration and responses.
• Collaborates with surgeons and staff to determine optimal anesthesia plans.
• Oversees recovery and determines readiness for discharge from PACU.
• Educates patients and families about post-procedure care and potential complications.

Job description

To ensure the safe administration of anesthesia and sedation provide effective pain management and support the perioperative care of patients undergoing medical and surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Administers anesthesia using various techniques e g general anesthesia local neuraxial or ultrasound guided nerve blocks tailored to patient needs and as per assigned clinical privileges Performs Pre-anesthesia and pre-induction assessments for patients planned for anesthesia Monitors patients before during and after procedures to manage pain and maintain stable vital signs Responds to and manage adverse reactions or complications related to anesthesia Maintains accurate documentation of anesthesia administration including medication types dosages and patient responses Assess patient risk by reviewing medical histories conducting examinations and ordering diagnostic tests when necessary Collaborates with surgeons physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine optimal anesthesia plans Provides airway management and life support during anesthesia and sedation Supervises recovery post-anesthesia and determines readiness for patient discharge from PACU Guides and oversees residents technicians nurses and support staff in anesthesia-related tasks Oversees the duties of residents technicians nurses and other healthcare support staff Educates patients and families about post-procedure care potential complications and preventive health strategies Participates in teaching activities departmental rounds and educational initiatives as requested Participates in departmental meetings and contribute to scientific and educational activities Ensures adherence to safety and quality protocols in line with organizational standards Be competent in advanced monitoring sedation techniques pharmacology response to emergencies managing complications and recovery protocols.

Experience

Language

Excellent oral and written English skills Arabic proficiency preferred.
