Detailed Job Description:

As a Telecom Technician with Candidzone based on-site in Ras Laffan, Qatar, you will deliver hands‑on technical installation, system integration, and fault troubleshooting across complex industrial telecommunications and ELV frameworks. Operating in rigorous field conditions alongside multidisciplinary EPC project teams, commissioning engineers, and plant safety officers, you will ensure all physical installations align with approved technical drawings, project specifications, and international engineering standards.

Your day-to-day responsibilities span the installation, pulling, laying, termination, and testing of structured cabling, copper wiring, and fiber optic backbones. You will maintain and troubleshoot comprehensive security and industrial telecommunications subsystems, including closed‑circuit television (CCTV) surveillance networks, access control systems (ACS), public address and general alarm (PAGA) systems, and integrated Fire & G (F&G) detection systems. Additionally, you will interpret engineering schematics, execute continuity and loop testing, calibrate field instrumentation, resolve complex wiring faults, and ensure zero‑defect commissioning. Working within strict Oil & Gas operating environments, you will adhere uncompromised to Permit to Work (PTW) protocols, environmental regulations, and corporate Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines. This role requires disciplined craftsmanship, technical accuracy, and proven resilience in industrial field operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform physical installation, termination, testing, and commissioning of telecommunications, ELV, and low current systems across industrial project sites.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain IP CCTV cameras, access control systems (ACS), and integrated Fire & G (F&G) monitoring devices.
• Execute structured copper and fiber optic cable pulling, tray laying, routing, dressing, glanding, and patch panel terminations.
• Interpret and work strictly according to engineering drawings, cable schedules, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and technical schematics.
• Conduct loop checks, signal continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and fiber optic OTDR/attenuation measurements.
• Troubleshoot, isolate, and remediate technical faults across telecom field devices, media converters, and system control panels to ensure high availability.
• Adhere rigorously to industrial Oil & Gas Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
• Maintain daily site progress logs, red‑line drawing updates, punch‑list clearance reports, and technical handover documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Technical Diploma or ITI certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related technical trade.
• Between 3 to 5 years of hands‑on professional field experience working as a Telecom Technician or ELV Technician.
• Proven hands‑on experience in telecommunications, Extra Low Voltage (ELV), and low current system installations.
• Demonstrated practical expertise installing, testing, and troubleshooting CCTV, Access Control, and Fire & G (F&G) systems.
• Solid technical proficiency in structured cabling, industrial wiring, terminal block termination, and rack dressing.
• Proven ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings, cable route layouts, and engineering schematics.
• Thorough working knowledge of industrial Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, safety procedures, and PPE compliance.
• Good professional communication, teamwork capabilities, and willingness to work on‑site in Ras Laffan, Qatar under an extendable contract.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Prior hands‑on telecommunications or ELV field experience specifically within Ras Laffan industrial city (RLIC) facilities.
• Demonstrated working background in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, heavy industrial, or major EPC engineering projects.
• Certifications in optical fiber splicing, OTDR testing, or manufacturer‑specific CCTV/Access Control platform training.
• Valid Qatar driving license and familiarity with local industrial site logistics.
• Current residency in Qatar with immediate availability and transferable visa status.
