Job summary

Mekdam Technical Services seeks an experienced Telecom Technician with a strong background in Oil & Gas projects, both onshore and offshore. The ideal candidate must have hands‑on expertise in installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining a wide range of telecom and ELV systems.

Offshore experience is mandatory. The role requires a Diploma in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical / Telecommunications) and 5–7 years of Oil & Gas telecom experience, with offshore certifications such as

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical / Telecommunications).
• 5-7 years' experience in Oil & Gas telecom maintenance and installation.
• Mandatory offshore experience with valid offshore certificates (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
• Strong knowledge of network cabling standards and fiber optic systems.
• Hands-on skills in radio communication systems – TETRA, VHF, UHF.
• Experience in CCTV and Access Control installation and configuration.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission, and maintain telecom systems offshore and onshore.
• Perform installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecom systems including structured cabling, fiber optics, TETRA, VHF/UHF, CCTV, ACS, and PAGA.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance per Oil & Gas standards.
• Support commissioning teams during project handover and SAT/FAT procedures.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards during all site activities.
• Prepare technical reports, update logs, and coordinate with supervisors/engineers.
• Provide support during shutdowns, offshore rotations, and emergency call-outs.

• TETRA Radio Systems
• VHF/UHF Radios
• CCTV Surveillance Systems
• Access Control Systems (ACS)
