Job summary

Ericsson in Doha, Qatar seeks an IP and Transport Technical Authority Expert to coordinate and execute IP/Transport service configuration, operations and maintenance per SLA. You will manage 2nd line incidents, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance, while deploying node updates and handling customer service requests.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in the transport domain, strong IP routing knowledge, and experience with Ericsson R6000 and Juniper devices.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years experience in Transport domain.
• Degree in Electrical/Telecommunication/CS/CE field.
• Strong IP routing protocol knowledge.

Responsibilities

• 2nd level incident management.
• 2nd level fault and KPI troubleshooting.
• 2nd level preventive maintenance.
• Prepare, test and implement config changes for service activation/restoration.
• Software deployment of IP & Transport nodes updates/upgrades.
• System administration.
• Node integration/expansion and commissioning.
• Handle customer service requests.

About this opportunity

The role IP and Transport Technical Authority Expert is responsible for the coordination, management and execution of IP and Transport service & resource configuration, operations & maintenance activities according to the pre-defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance levels.

What you will do

• 2nd Level Incident management
• 2nd Level Fault and KPI Troubleshooting
• 2nd Level Preventive Maintenance
• Prepare, test and implement services/resources configuration data changes for end user service activation, restoration and / or severability performance optimization
• Software Deployment of IP & Transport nodes updates and upgrades.
• System administration
• Node Integration/expansion & commissioning
• Customer Service Requests Handling
• Commissioning, configuration, upgrade and operations and maintenance experience on different vendor routers and firewalls including the following
• Ericsson R6000
• Juniper (M120/M103/M320/MX480/MX960)

Deep Knowledge in

• Configuration, Maintenance and Troubleshooting of IP-MPLS network.
• IP routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and RSVP
• Understanding of DWDM, SONET/SDH, Ethernet transport, and other underlying transport technologies.
• Redundancy Protocols: HSRP, VRRP, BFD
• Microwave, Optical, and IPRAN network configuration, operation and maintenance.
• Technical issues related to EVPN, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, and MPLS TE/FRR/VPN.
• 2G, 4G and 5G network architecture, interfaces, protocols and signaling flows.
• Quality of Service

The skills you bring

• Degree within Electrical Engineering / Telecommunication Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering.
• 5-10 years experience in Transport domain
• Deep knowledge of IP Routing protocols
• Knowledge of Managed Service telecom operations practice
