Job summary

Snoonu is seeking a detail-driven Taxonomist to architect and steward the platform’s classification framework. You’ll shape multi-level category trees, attribute schemas, and governance rules to power AI-powered search, recommendations, and shopping experiences.

You’ll partner with ML, search, merchandising, and content teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and semantic richness across 200K+ SKUs, enabling scalable discovery and conversion.

Qualifications

• Experience designing hierarchical classification systems for large product catalogs.
• Strong data governance capabilities and metadata modeling skills.
• Proficiency with PIM/CMS systems and SQL-based data queries.
• Excellent written and verbal English; Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain a multi-level product taxonomy aligned with business needs.
• Define attribute schemas (facets, filters, metadata) for catalog items.
• Enforce taxonomy governance, naming conventions, and classification rules.
• Audit taxonomy quality, fix miscategorizations, and prevent drift.
• Collaborate with ML, search, merchandising, and UX teams on taxonomy use.
• Produce governance docs, onboarding materials, and KPI reports.
