Job summary

Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara, part of Minor Hotels, is seeking a dedicated steward/dishwasher to join our culinary team. You will clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, maintain cleanliness of work areas, and support buffet and banquet setups in a dynamic hotel environment.

The role requires physical stamina, basic kitchen hygiene knowledge, and teamwork with positive communication. Prior hotel/restaurant experience is advantageous, and a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous steward or dishwasher experience in a hotel/restaurant is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and stand long hours.
• Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, and pans.
• Ensure the cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and workstations.
• Collect and remove trash and recycling from designated areas.
• Operate dishwashing machines and ensure they function properly.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages.
• Assist kitchen and service staff with setup and breakdown of buffets or banquets.
• Follow hotel safety and sanitation policies, including proper chemical handling.
• Sort and stack clean dishes; deliver them to proper storage areas.
• Handle all equipment carefully to avoid breakage or damage.
• Perform deep cleaning tasks as scheduled (e.g., oven cleaning, grease traps).
