Job summary

SPIE Global Services Energy in Doha is seeking a Static Mechanical Engineer to provide high-level technical expertise, design validation, and asset integrity support for static equipment and piping within a refinery/chemical processing setting. The role emphasizes plant reliability, major turnaround execution, and compliance with international codes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in mechanical engineering in heavy process industries.
Experience in fertilizer industry preferred.
Fluent English communication skills.
Experience managing capital equipment replacement projects and turnarounds.

Responsibilities

Review and approve design calculations, data sheets, drawings and specs for pressure vessels, heat exchangers and tanks.
Prepare and review P&IDs, PMS, and MTOs to meet international standards.
Perform piping stress analysis and ensure design validity under high pressures and temperatures.
Define technical scope for turnarounds and outages; supervise field activities.
Support Fitness-for-Service evaluations and root cause analysis of failures.
