Job summary

IRM Energy & Technology in Qatar seeks a senior FP&A leader to drive budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. You will analyse performance, develop models, manage OPEX/CAPEX controls, and support treasury and liquidity decisions for the CFO and Board.

You will mentor FP&A and accounting teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate cross-functional activities across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Professional finance certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
• Minimum 8 years FP&A experience in the energy sector, including Big Four exposure.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, corporate finance, and business strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Analyse financial performance, budget variances, KPIs, and risks; develop models and cash flow projections.
• Manage OPEX/CAPEX budget controls and ensure compliance with budgets and SAP procedures.
• Support treasury, loans, hedging, liquidity, and shareholder returns; ensure CTA compliance.
• Prepare financial reports and presentations for the CFO, Board, lenders, and shareholders.
• Collaborate with departments to improve financial performance and support strategic decisions.
• Lead and mentor FP&A and accounting team members; ensure compliance with laws and regs.

Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to support strategic decision-making, ensure financial control and CTA compliance, manage financial risks and liquidity, and provide accurate financial insights to the CFO, Board, lenders, and shareholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA preferred. Professional finance certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent). Minimum 8 years of FP&A experience in the energy sector, including Big Four audit exposure. Strong knowledge of financial statements, corporate finance, and business strategy.

Skills and Competencies

• Senior accounting experience in a multinational organization, preferably a power plant. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial risk awareness. Hands-on experience in accounts payable, cash books, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Working knowledge of IFRS, international GAAP, budgeting, and forecasting. Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations. ERP experience with SAP, Oracle, Maximo, Sun Financials, or NetSuite. Advanced MS Office and Excel skills, including financial modelling and project finance.
