Job summary

A major energy firm in Qatar is seeking an expert in Project Planning with at least 15 years of experience specifically in Oil & Gas projects. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in scheduling, monitoring, and reporting for large-scale projects, including capital and portfolio initiatives. A B.Sc. in Engineering and PMP certification are preferred. This role demands a high level of analytical skills, experience in EPC project lifecycle, and proficiency in tools like Primavera and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in planning projects in Oil & Gas.
• Preferably 5 years’ experience in National/International Oil Companies.
• Experience in EPC project lifecycle and pre-commissioning planning.
• Experience in EPC project lifecycle and commissioning planning.
• Shutdown scheduling expertise with pre/post-shutdown activities.
• Strong project control, monitoring, forecasting, risk assessment and variations analysis.
• Proficient with Primavera; Power BI experience is preferred.
• GCC work experience desirable and strong reporting/analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform Project Planning, Scheduling, and Progress monitoring activities.
• Achieve successful execution of assigned Project(s) from initiation to close-out.
• Develop and manage shutdown schedules covering the full cycle.
• Ensure effective project control, forecasting and risk assessment across projects.

Primary Purpose of the Job

Perform comprehensive Project Planning, Scheduling, Progress monitoring, Progress Verification and reporting activities necessary to achieve the successful execution of the assigned Project(s) from initiation to close-out.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in planning of projects in Oil & Gas including large capital and/or portfolio projects with onshore brownfield and greenfield projects including gas processing plants, refineries, onshore pipelines, etc.
• Preferably minimum 5 years’ experience in National Oil Companies and/or International Oil Companies.
• Experience in EPC project lifecycle, encompassing engineering, procurement, construction & commissioning.
• Experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning planning, including system-wise handover strategies.
• Experience in developing and managing shutdown schedules covering the full cycle: pre-shutdown preparation, shutdown execution and post-shutdown activities.
• Experience includes project planning, scheduling & phasing, project control & monitoring, forecasting, trending, risk assessment, variations/claims analysis, progress verification.
• High level of computer literacy with MS Office and relevant Project Control software including Primavera. Skills in Primavera Risk Analysis and Power BI are preferable.
• Work experience in the GCC is desirable.
• Well-developed analytical and reporting skills.

Educational Qualifications

B. Sc. or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline. Preferably Certified PMP or equivalent certifications/memberships.
