Job summary

Doha Petroleum Construction Co. W.L.L is hiring a Senior Welding Engineer to lead welding and fabrication activities for oil & gas and petrochemical projects in Doha.

You will provide technical welding expertise, ensure compliance with international codes, and analyze weld failures to drive corrective actions. The role requires IWE qualification, CSWIP 3.1 or higher, NDT Level II or higher, and extensive offshore/onshore project experience across materials including CS, ASS, DSS, Nickel, Copper

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of Oil & Gas / Petrochemical welding experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Welding, Metallurgy, Materials or Mechanical Eng.
• IWE qualification is mandatory.
• CSWIP 3.1 or higher.
• NDT Level II or higher in RT, UT, MT and/or PT.
• Extensive onshore and offshore O&G project experience.

Industry: Oil & Gas / Petrochemical

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Welding, Metallurgy, Materials or Mechanical Engineering.
• International Welding Engineer (IWE) qualification is mandatory.
• CSWIP 3.1 or higher.
• NDT Level II or higher in RT, UT, MT and/or PT.
• Extensive experience in onshore and offshore Oil & Gas projects.

Technical Requirements

• Strong knowledge of SMAW, SAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW welding processes.
• Expertise in welding Carbon Steel (CS), Austenitic Stainless Steel (ASS), Duplex Stainless Steel (DSS), Nickel Alloys, Copper Alloys and CRA materials.
• Experience in Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) preparation, Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ).
• In-depth knowledge of ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104 and other applicable international codes and standards.
• Experience in weld failure analysis, corrosion, fracture, fatigue and metallurgical testing.
• Knowledge of hot tapping, temper bead welding and high-strength pipeline steels.
