Job summary

Airswift seeks a highly experienced QA/QC Engineer (Piping) in Qatar for a major Oil & Gas company. You will lead QA/QC teams, oversee piping construction and commissioning, and ensure compliance with international standards and project quality requirements.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in oil & gas EPC projects, strong NDT, coatings, and auditing expertise, and a proven track record managing large inspection teams on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor.
• Senior Welding Inspector Certification: CSWIP 3.2 or AWS-SCWI.
• Painting Inspector Certification: BGAS Grade 2 or NACE Level 2 NDT Level 2 Certifications (RT, MT, UT, PT).

Responsibilities

• Lead QA/QC inspectors and engineers on piping projects.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for quality performance.
• Conduct supplier and subcontractor audits and ensure compliance with standards.
• Oversee inspections, testing activities and quality surveillance programs.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor.
• Senior Welding Inspector Certification: CSWIP 3.2 or AWS-SCWI
• Painting Inspector Certification: BGAS Grade 2 or NACE Level 2 NDT Level 2 Certification in: RT, MT, UT, and PT (ASNT/ACCP or equivalent international certifications)

Preferred / Advantageous Qualifications

• IIW Welding Engineer Certification.
• NDT Level 3 Certification.
• Advanced NDT Certifications: PAUT TOFD AutoUT
• Professional memberships such as: ASNT AWS TWI NACE ASQ-CMQ/OE MCQI-CQP

Required Experience

Minimum 15 years of QA/QC experience in Oil & Gas construction projects.

Experience in:

• Refineries
• LNG/NGL Plants
• Petrochemical Complexes
• Greenfield and Brownfield Projects
• Previous experience with major EPIC Contractors or End Users.

Strong background in:

• Process Piping Systems
• Construction & Commissioning
• Quality Management
• Inspection and Testing Activities
• Quality Surveillance Programs
• CMS, TIV, FPD, PQHC implementation

Technical Expertise Required

• Strong knowledge of: ASME API AWS ASTM ISO BS EN SSPC NACE IOGP Shell DEP MESC Specifications
• Hands-on experience with: ITPs QCPs WPS/PQR MARs NCR Management Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Quality Audits Material Traceability Preservation Management Systems Commissioning & Pre-Commissioning Activities

Leadership & Management Requirements

• Managing QA/QC inspectors and engineers.
• Establishing and monitoring KPIs.
• Conducting supplier and subcontractor audits.
• Resolving complex technical disputes and quality issues.
• Working effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
