Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Manager Risk and Compliance in Qatar to lead risk management and compliance for Retail & Hospitality segments including QDFC, F&B, QDC, IMS, Lounges, Hotels, and QACC. This role requires developing risk-based programs, monitoring controls, and guiding senior management on policy adherence.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree, 8+ years of relevant experience, and strong English and communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent.
Minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
Proven experience in developing, implementing and reviewing policies and procedures.
Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Command of English language.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.
Proficiency in ERP systems like Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft AX and Business Central along with MS Office applications.
Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow, mentor and coach teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a strategic compliance framework aligned with group policies and best practices.
Establish policies and procedures supporting strategic goals; adapt risk-based approaches.
Monitor changes in business needs and adapt compliance programs accordingly.
Produce policy and risk advisories for stakeholders on current and emerging risks.
Develop practical mitigation measures for managers to maintain business facilitation.
Evaluate and enhance internal controls; identify gaps and propose improvements.
Conduct risk assessments of facilities to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
Identify probability and impact of internal control failures and propose options.
Document policies for procurement, revenue, operations, cash office, and inventory management.
Implement processes to ensure policy compliance and mitigate risks.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify improvements.
Monitor compliance metrics and KPIs to detect concerns.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on compliance initiatives.
Investigate potential breaches and implement remedial measures.
Stay updated on regulations and trends to keep programs effective.
Provide direction to the compliance team and foster a culture of excellence.
Build relationships with stakeholders and act as trusted advisor to senior management.
Draft reports and presentations on compliance performance and initiatives.
Perform other duties as directed by Head of Department.
