Job summary

SPIE Global Services Energy seeks an experienced PV Technician to support the operation and maintenance of large-scale Solar Power Plants. The role requires hands-on PV system work, electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and high-voltage switching operations.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, strong knowledge of relay protection, transformers, MV/HV cabling, and CMMS/SAP for maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in operation and maintenance of Solar Power Plants (100 MWp and above).
• Hands-on experience with PV systems, electrical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and high-voltage switching operations.
• Strong experience in relay protection systems, transformer maintenance, MV/HV cable jointing/repairs, vacuum circuit breakers and MV/LV motor maintenance.
• Familiarity with CMMS/SAP maintenance systems; good computer skills and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on PV plant equipment.
• Inspect, test, and maintain transformers, switchgear, and protection relays.
• Maintain and troubleshoot MV/LV motors, vacuum circuit breakers, and electrical distribution systems.
• Conduct MV and HV cable jointing, termination, repair, and testing activities.
• Support operation and maintenance activities for substations up to 33kV and associated electrical systems.
• Monitor and maintain UPS systems, thyristor rectifiers, and plant electrical utilities.
• Perform switching and isolation activities on electrical systems per safety procedures.
• Diagnose faults using PLC-based systems and HMI.
• Support maintenance related to HVAC and instrumentation systems.
• Ensure compliance with HSE and electrical safety standards; prepare maintenance reports.
