Job summary

Swan Global is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer for challenging assignments in Doha, Qatar. The role requires hands-on maintenance, diagnostic testing, and the development of proactive maintenance plans for high-voltage systems and associated equipment.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of experience in oil & gas or petrochemical environments, including transformer and MV/HV equipment, PLCs, and instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in electrical field is required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience, with 4 years in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or power plants.
• Experience with HV & LV distribution networks and 6.6kV to 132kV gear.
• Knowledge of neutral and equipment earthing systems.
• Experience in numerical relay protection and transformer maintenance.
• Experience with PLCs, HVAC, instrumentation and HMI use preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks and diagnostics on electrical systems.
• Install and test systems; develop and implement maintenance plans to prevent breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and repairs; document processes and service records.
• Monitor parts availability and replenish supplies; optimize machinery settings.
• Maintain tidy work environment and comply with regulations.
• Plant maintenance in HV substations, switchgear, motors and UPS required.
• Understand Permit to Work (PTW) and LOTO procedures.

Working days : 6 days in a week

Job Description:

• Shall be familiar with different electrical systems, equipment and component with its fittings and material specifications.
• Shall be capable to trouble shoot, maintain, repair the different electrical system, equipment, and components
• Having hand on experience in the followings:
• HV & LV Distribution network with voltage
• Knowledge of Neutral, equipment earthing system.
• Experience required in numerical relay protection, transformer maintenance, MV and HV cable jointing and repair, vacuum breaker maintenance, MV motor maintenance and operation and maintenance of MV motor.
• Experience that includes PLCs, HVAC, instrumentation, and the use of computer-based man-machine interfaces is preferred.
• Switching and operating experience on plant at 415V, 6.6kV, 11KV, 33kV and 132kV is highly desirable.
• Computer literacy essential and familiarity with MS Office 2000 packages.
• Switchgear, Transformer, Generator protection philosophy, and testing of protection devices.
• Having thorough operation & maintenance knowledge of UPS, Battery Charger, Battery Banks etc.
• Familiar with hand tools, fasteners, and other similar equipment.

Your main duties will be ensuring and conducting the following:

• Maintenance tasks.
• Installing and performing diagnostic tests on systems.
• Developing and implementing maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns.
• Troubleshooting malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.li>
• Documenting processes and maintaining service records.
• Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies.
• Optimizing efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.
• Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations.
• Plant maintenance experience on HV Substations, switchboards up to 6.6kV, motors, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), thyristor rectifiers, and general plant electrical utilities are required
• Sound knowledge on Permit to work & LOTO system
